Senator Candidates

The following are candidates for the 2022 United States Senate Race:

Herschel Walker (R)

The following information originates from  https://www.teamherschel.com/

Bio: Whether on the football field, in the classroom, at the Olympics, in Mixed Martial Arts, as CEO of multiple businesses, or as spokesman for the Patriot Support Program, Herschel’s work ethic, commitment to excellence, and love for America has inspired millions. Now, he is tackling his next challenge: winning a seat in the United States Senate.

Platform:

  • Putting Georgia First:
    • Herschel loves Georgia and wants to give back to the state that has given him so much. Georgia’s strong agriculture, tourism, film production, and manufacturing industries, along with the booming Savannah Port, have helped make Georgia the number one state for business. Herschel will fight every day in the Senate for policies that keep Georgia leading the way with job creation, lower taxes, and less government red tape.
  • Make America Energy Independent:
    • If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the past year, America cannot depend on other countries for our essential resources, including energy. Herschel will fight to make America energy independent once again, leading to lower gas prices, more American jobs being brought back from overseas, and stronger national security.
  • Protecting Conservative Family Values
    • Herschel’s upbringing in rural Georgia instilled a personal faith in God, which he carries with him to this day. He prays every day for this country, and with God’s help will bring those values with him to Washington. Herschel is a compassionate conservative who is pro-life and pro-family.
  • Support for Small Businesses and American Workers:
    • After a 15-year professional football career, Herschel decided to build his own business from the ground up. What started as a small operation has grown to be one of the largest minority-owned food suppliers in the United States. He knows firsthand the struggles of owning a business, balancing a budget, and dealing with government red tape. He will fight for lower taxes, fewer government regulations, and more free-market capitalism.

Incumbent: Raphael Warnock (D)

The following information originates from  https://warnockforgeorgia.com/

Bio: Senator Warnock is a proud graduate of Morehouse College; after graduating from Morehouse, he went onto earn a PhD and begin his career ordained in the ministry. For over 16 years, Senator Warnock has served as Senior Pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. Currently, Senator Warnock serves on the Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee; Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee; Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, as well as the Special Committee on Aging and the Joint Economic Committee.

Platform:

  • Reproductive Rights
    • As a pro-choice pastor, Warnock has both a profound reverence for life and an abiding respect for choice. He fundamentally believes that health care is a human right, and that health care decisions should be left between a patient and their doctor.
  • Jobs and the Economy
    • Reverend Warnock recognizes that things have gotten harder for families like his, and for many in Georgia, the American dream has never felt more out of reach. That’s why he believes that we need to rebuild an economy that works for everyone by creating good paying jobs, protecting the dignity of work, and fighting for fair wages and equitable employment practices in the workplace for all Americans. Fighting for workers also means Reverend Warnock will oppose Washington tax breaks that benefit the richest of the rich while leaving behind the poor and working families that need help the most.
  • Climate
    • Reverend Warnock believes we must accept the science, invest in infrastructure, and combat the climate crisis that is already at our door.
    • He believes environmental policy doesn’t just focus on addressing long-term challenges, but everyday problems. That means recognizing and resolving the lack of access to clean water and air many Black and brown families endure and the higher share of income those families regularly pay in energy bills.
  • Education
    • Reverend Warnock believes that your access to a good K-12 education shouldn’t depend on your zip code and that the cost of higher education should never be an obstacle to opportunity.
    • Reverend Warnock also understands that college isn’t for everyone, and is a strong believer in offering more opportunities like vocational training, trade schools, and apprenticeship programs that will get young people ready for a changing economy.

Chase Oliver (L)

The following information originates from https://chaseforgeorgia.com/

Bio: I want to be a Senator that serves each and every individual, and not a political machine based in Washington DC. I want to represent you and not special interests which thrive on division, gridlock and partisan fighting. I would rather work for results. I want to see all sides come together to make it easier to start a new business by reducing the red tape and complexity and tax burdens on small businesses. I want to work on fixing our broken immigration system so we continue our nation’s legacy of being a beacon of liberty to the world. I want to fight for Justice reforms that protect all of our rights and put people on equal footing with the government in our courts. Most importantly I want to serve the people of Georgia, work to overcome partisan gridlock, and get to work on the pressing issues that affect all of us in the Peach State.

Platform:

  • Economy:
    • How can we make it easier for Georgians to find a good job to provide for themselves and their families? We can start by going line by line through the tax and regulatory codes to make it easier to start a new business and remove competitive advantages giant firms have purchased through lobbying both parties in power.
    • Small business is the engine of our economy, and if we take the time and make the effort to go through the enormous tax and regulatory codes and begin removing these impediments, we will see local businesses grow and good paying jobs will come with that.
  • Civil Liberties:
    • It is often the case that the worst government abuses come disguised as protection from danger and harm. If you feel in danger, it becomes easy for the government to have you trade your liberty for the illusion of security. We have warrantless wiretaps, abuses of the FISA courts, an overarching Patriot Act to name a few. Even worse, we attempt to imprison those who expose the hard truths we need to hear. As Senator, I will fight to end these programs which eat away at your constitutionally protected privacy and civil liberties and advocate for the release and pardon of those who have blown the whistle on abuse and illegal actions of our government.

The following are candidates for the 2022 Georgia Governor Race:

Incumbent: Brian Kemp (R)

Kemp reports that he “put hardworking Georgians first by keeping our state open in the face of a global pandemic, bringing record economic success to communities across Georgia”

Platform:

  • Pro-Small Business: As Governor, Brian Kemp is fighting to make Georgia #1 for small business through regulatory reform. He will ensure that all parts of the state - including rural Georgia - have opportunities to grow and thrive.

Stacey Abrams (D)

The following information originates from: https://staceyabrams.com

Bio:

Stacey is a tax attorney, entrepreneur, writer and small business owner. In 2010, Stacey became House Democratic Leader in the Georgia General Assembly. After her 2018 governor campaign, she focused on developing progressive policy solutions in the spheres of health care access, medical debt, small businesses, and COVID-19 relief.

Platform:

  • Economic Justice:
    • Create a tax credit that will let more than 1 million working families keep more of their hard-earned wages, with the greatest impact in rural counties.
    • Hold employers accountable for exploiting and underpaying their workers
    • Secure legislative and regulatory changes such as paid sick leave and expansion of unemployment insurance
    • Establish an incubation program through the Georgia Department of Economic Development to assist individuals seeking to form new businesses in the state.
    • Invest $10 million in unique, easy-to-use small business financing programs that grow customers and commerce.
    • Use revenues from sports betting and casinos as a permanent funding source for need-based aid and technical college to make college more accessible for Georgians.
  • Health Care and Reproductive Rights:
    • Expand Medicaid to lower health care costs for all, provide half a million Georgians with insurance and stop hospital closures.
    • Provide an emergency one-month supply of insulin for qualifying low- and moderate-income Georgians who have gaps in health insurance coverage
    • Require that health plans doing business with the state identify and develop solutions that address health care disparities within the specific populations they serve.
    • Protect and expand the rights of women and families to make healthcare decisions and defend the ability of doctors to provide medical care. Veto legislation that would further restrict abortion rights and work to repeal the 6-week abortion ban.
  • Immigration:
    • “We must pursue fair, just and comprehensive immigration reform that balances the conversation of safety with the need to create a pathway to citizenship for individuals in this country.”
    • Oppose the Separation of Children. “Regardless of political party, all of us must stand up and speak up for the voiceless — or risk inflicting irreparable damage on these families and to our nation.”
    • Grant Academic Access to DREAMers.” I will defend the rights of DREAMers as they pursue their educational goals. My plan for higher education helps put every Georgian on a pathway to debt-free post-secondary education.
  • Gun Violence:
    • Reduce guns on the streets by repealing bills that needlessly endanger Georgians — including criminal carry, campus carry, and the 2014 “Guns Everywhere” law.
    • Close the background check loophole for private transfers and gun show sales.
    • Adopt red flag legislation to prevent those who have been reported for protective actions or who pose a danger to themselves or others from purchasing a weapon.
    • Secure and regularize mental health supports at every level of law enforcement, including reducing stigma and expanding self-reporting options.

Shane Hazel (L)

The following information originates from: https://shanehazel.com/#/home

Bio:

Shane Hazel is a Georgian, a Marine, and the host of the Radical Podcast. After discovering the works of John Taylor Gatto while serving overseas, he began to see the depth of the corruption in government and started his journey into the ideas of radical freedom. As Governor, Shane would commit to nullifying as many laws as possible, standing between you and the tyrannical federal government. He would refuse to back down or kowtow to the political elites. If you're looking for a principled candidate with a commitment to your freedom, you've come to the right place.

Platform:

  • Health Mandates: All health mandates by the state & federal government will be nullified. Furthermore the health industry will be completely privatized to include charities.
  • Economy: You are essential. The current government is not. I will nullify as many regulations as I can so that you may apply your resources where you need them most. You have a right to work.
  • Education: All state & federal mandates will be nullified ending the government indoctrination camps in Georgia. Education is a private matter.
  • Guns: Repeal & nullify as many gun laws as possible.

Lt. Governor Candidates

The following are candidates for the 2022 Georgia Lieutenant Governor Race:

Burt Jones (R)

The following information originates from: https://burtjonesforga.com/

Bio: Burt Jones is a lifelong conservative who has a proven record of creating jobs, growing a successful business, and fighting for Georgia values. A sixth-generation Jackson native, Burt works with his family’s business, Jones Petroleum, where he has served as an integral part of growing the diverse, multi-faceted company, employing nearly 2,000 Georgians. Burt also founded JP Capital & Insurance, Inc., a risk-management company specializing in retail insurance brokerage.

Platform:

  • Economy, Jobs, and Taxes:
    • Creating more high-quality jobs by reducing burdensome regulations, eliminating the state income tax, prioritizing vocational and technical training, and empowering small businesses across our state to succeed.
  • Public Safety and Law Enforcement:
    • Increase funding for local law enforcement officers to that they have the tools and resources they need to protect Georgia communities
    • Strengthen penalties for sex traffickers, gang members and repeat offenders
  • Election Integrity:
    • Restoring voter confidence by securing our elections, increasing transparency and accountability, and investigating any and all instances of voter fraud.
  • Education:
    • Creating a world class K-12 and Higher Education System in Georgia by investing in teachers and students, prioritizing school choice, vocational and technical education, and lowering the cost of post-secondary degrees.
  • Immigration:
    • Enforcing a legal immigration system that puts the lives and livelihoods of hardworking Georgians first and foremost.
    • Help secure the Southern Border by pushing for completion of the wall to prevent the flow of illegal immigration into our country
    • Support coordination between state and federal law enforcement agencies to apprehend drug and sex traffickers who are in our state illegally

Charlie Bailey (D)

The following information originates from: https://www.charlieforgeorgia.com/

Bio: Former Senior Assistant District Attorney of Fulton County, Ran for Attorney General of Georgia in 2018

Bailey's Promise: “I am committed to helping build One Georgia, where every person can expect to leave a better life with more opportunities for their kids than they had . . . . I will fight against the powerful interests that would do them harm and take advantage of them, whether that is special interests like insurance companies that don’t want us to take action to make sure every hard-working Georgian has healthcare, Wall Street predators who wish to take advantage of our retirees by targeting their pension funds, big corporations that don’t want to pay their fair share to fund our schools, or organized crime syndicates who victimize the vulnerable.”

Platform:

  • Healthcare:
    • Ensuring that we provide healthcare access for working Georgians by finally expanding Medicaid.
  • Education: Fully fund our schools, reduce our class sizes, and pay our teachers more.
  • Public Safety and Law Enforcement:
    • Make sure our law enforcement officers are paid a livable wage so that thousands aren’t living below the poverty line
    • We can give our public safety agencies the tools to recruit and screen the best talents in the state
    • Fund policies that will ensure that our law enforcement training will keep citizens and law enforcement officers safe and that officers will treat everyone they meet with the respect they deserve.
    • Fund the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s state crime lab, so that police and prosecutors aren’t waiting for months or even years for ballistics tests.
    • Get the thousands of backlogged sexual assault kits tested

Ryan Graham (L)

The following information originates from: https://graham4ga.com/

Bio: Ryan lives in Atlanta with his partner, Laura, and their daughter, Elizabeth. He works as a Project Manager in software development. He has a passion for empowering individuals to overcome the issues of the day without one-size-fits-all solutions from politicians. Ryan is a proponent of getting the government out of the way and letting individuals create solutions to the problems of today.

Platform:

  • Educational Freedom: “It’s time to empower educators and parents to provide innovative solutions for our children to learn.”
  • Criminal Justice: Everyone seems to agree that we have a flawed criminal “justice” system, but nothing ever seems to get done about it.
    • Legalize Cannabis: Laws around the possession and use of cannabis have ruined lives and put peaceful people behind bars, unable to be productive members of society. These laws are outdated, tear families apart, and need to end now.
    • End Civil Asset Forfeiture: Anyone can have their assets seized by police as long as the officer claims that they suspect the property was connected to a crime . . . . It is criminal that authorities can simply claim an asset might somehow be involved in criminal activity and can steal that property. We must reject any infringement on a citizen’s fundamental right to due process.
    • End Sovereign Immunity: Sovereign immunity is the concept that government and its employees are immune from being held accountable for their actions by everyday citizens. Under this doctrine, government agencies can only be held accountable by other government agencies. Citizens must be able to stand up for themselves against an ever-growing government, especially when its employees infringe on our rights.
    • Reform the Police:  I believe that what we need first is a reprioritization of the duties of our police force. We need to throw out the term “law enforcement” and get back to peace officers who are tasked with protecting and serving their communities. Police officers should have no reason to go after non-violent offenders and instead focus efforts on violent crime. We also need to end the militarization of our police force. We see more and more law enforcement looking like they are ready to be deployed into a war zone. Georgia is not a war zone. Georgians deserve better than to be treated as enemy combatants.

The following are candidates for the 2022 Georgia Secretary of State Race:

Incumbent: Brad Raffensperger (R)

Brad uses his business and personal principles as Georgia Secretary of State, and never wavers from his belief that every decision that matters must be made with integrity.”

Platform:

  • Election Integrity:
    • It was integrity that drove his decision to purchase and deploy modern voting machines that could be audited and verified all across Georgia. For the first time, it was possible to recount Georgia’s vote by hand, if necessary. When Georgia’s election results were questioned in 2020, The system Brad deployed was proven accurate after two recounts and a full audit.”
  • Additional beliefs:
    • “Only American citizens should be allowed to vote in American elections.”
    • “States, not the federal government, should run elections.”

He has been tirelessly engaged to affect people’s attitudes about Liberty and Self Determination with involvement in many groups and organizations to steer elected officials towards smaller, fiscally responsible, constitutional government.”
    • Supports: “Voter ID, Absentee Signature Matching, Hand Marked Paper Ballots, Strict Chain of Custody, Comprehensive Audits, Public Ballot Inspection, Prosecution, Penalties, and Imprisonment for Unlawful Election Shenanigans”
